What is Polished Plaster?

A traditional Venetian plaster is made out of a lime base with marble dust, and was used in the Roman Empire to mimic natural stone surfaces in public places. A lot of the modern-day Venetian plasters can also contain a synthetic base which are used to create a range of different effects.
